Algerian Radio
The literary caravan "Poets from Both Shores," which celebrates literary and linguistic exchanges between Algeria and Italy, concluded yesterday evening, Tuesday, in Algiers. The caravan had previously made stops in Sidi Bel Abbès and Tlemcen, with poets from both countries participating.
This closing poetry evening, hosted by "Dar Abdelatif," featured performances by Algerian poets Lamis Saïdi and Khaled Ben Salah, along with Italian writer and poet Emilio Negro.
Khaled Ben Salah and Lamis Saïdi took turns reciting their poems in Arabic, alongside other poems translated into Arabic, notably those of Italian poet Flaminia Cruciani, who had participated in the Sidi Bel Abbès and Tlemcen encounters.
For his part, Italian poet Emilio Negro recited his own poems, as well as texts by Lamis Saïdi and Khaled Ben Salah translated into Italian.
The poets, accompanied by mandolin player Koussaïla Adjrad, who added rhythm to the words in a distinctive musical ambiance, celebrated the mutual ties and the rich cultural, linguistic, and literary exchanges between Algeria and Italy.
During this gathering, attended by Mr. Reda Faci, Director General of the Algerian Agency for Cultural Radiance, Mr. Alberto Cutillo, Ambassador of Italy to Algeria, and Ms. Antonia Grande, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Algeria, certificates were awarded to the poets participating in this literary caravan. The event concluded with a musical performance by Hind Boukella.
The "Poets from Both Shores" caravan, organized by the Algerian Agency for Cultural Radiance in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute and under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Arts, had previously visited the Abdelkrim Dali Cultural Palace in Tlemcen and the Mohamed-Kabbati Main Library in Sidi Bel Abbès on January 15th and 17th.
