Karateka Cylia Ouikene has risen to third place in the world rankings in the under-50 kg Kumite category.
This achievement was reflected in the latest 2026 World Karate Federation (WKF) ranking updates.
Ouikene’s new ranking highlights the remarkable progress made by the champion, who clinched a bronze medal at the Karate1 Premier League in Istanbul just a week ago.
Meanwhile, Algerian karateka Louiza Abouriche (-55 kg Kumite) secured the seventh spot.
Abouriche's placement further bolsters the standing of Algerian karate on the international stage.
Her seventh-place ranking is particularly significant in a fiercely competitive category led by Egypt's Ahlam Youssef, Ukraine's Anzhelika Terliuga, and Chile's Valentina Toro.
The future looks bright for both Ouikene and Abouriche, with growing optimism regarding their ability to reach the podium in Arab, continental, and international competitions.
