The Chargé d'Affaires of the French Embassy in Algeria was received today, Saturday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the broadcast by the public channel "France 2" of what was falsely and deceitfully presented as a documentary, whereas in reality, it is merely a web of lies and fabrications involving deep insults and unjustified provocations, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In this regard, the French diplomat's attention was drawn to the extreme gravity of the following:
First: The responsibility of a French public service channel in this blatant attack on the Algerian State, its institutions, and symbols; an attack that this public channel would not have undertaken without the complicity or, at the very least, the approval of its supervisory public authority.
Second: Contrary to all diplomatic norms and practices, the contribution of the French Embassy in Algeria, as well as the personal participation of the Ambassador, in fueling this offensive campaign led by this public channel, is likely to reinforce the feeling that this campaign has received endorsement from official French circles.
Third: The conduct of the French channel in question represents a new stage in the escalation of hostile practices against Algeria, practices overseen by official French circles with the aim of keeping Algerian-French relations in a state of permanent crisis.
Fourth: The Algerian Government condemns in the strongest terms the program in question, and the unacceptable accusations and insults it contains against the Algerian State and its institutions. The Algerian Government also expresses its strong rejection of the involvement of the French Ambassador in Algeria in committing acts that clearly contradict the exercise of his duties, as defined by laws and enshrined in international norms.
In conclusion, the French diplomat was informed that the Algerian Government reserves the right to take all measures required by the gravity of such actions.
