The Algerian national artistic gymnastics team will take part in the Cairo stage of the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, scheduled from April 3 to 6 in Egypt, with three female gymnasts led by Olympic champion Kaylia Nemour, according to the Algerian Gymnastics Federation.

The Algerian delegation will be led by the superstar Kaylia Nemour, an Olympic and world gold medalist, alongside her teammates Siham Hamidi and Louna Hamamès, in a high-stakes and challenging competition.

The Cairo leg serves as a crucial milestone for the Algerian gymnasts, acting as the final international test before the 2026 African Gymnastics Championships, set to begin on April 21 in Cameroon.

Significant focus will be placed on Nemour, who is expected to face her Chinese rival Qiu Qiyuan in their first direct encounter since the Paris 2024 Olympic final, where the Algerian sensation triumphed on the uneven bars.

Nemour enters this competition with high momentum following remarkable results in previous World Cup series rounds. She secured gold on the uneven bars in the Baku (Azerbaijan) leg with a total of 15.233 points, in addition to a silver medal on the balance beam. She also claimed silver on the same apparatus during the Cottbus leg in Germany.

For her part, Louna Hamamès continues to gain experience at the highest level, aiming to confirm the ongoing progress of Algerian gymnastics on the international stage.

This event comes in a specific context following the International Gymnastics Federation's (FIG) calendar adjustment after the cancellation of the Doha stage. The final ranking for each apparatus will now be determined by the best three results for each gymnast.

Algeria enters this competition at a pivotal stage of the season, with the ambition of maintaining the national team's positive dynamic and ensuring the best possible preparation for upcoming continental challenges.
