Boulos Highlights Strength of Algerian-US Relations and Both Countries’ Commitment to a More Peaceful and Prosperous Future

The Senior Advisor to the US President for Africa, Arab Affairs, and the Middle East, Mr. Massad Boulos, highlighted the strength of Algerian-American relations on Tuesday in Algiers, reiterating the shared commitment of both countries to work toward a more peaceful and prosperous future.

In a statement to the press following the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the Presidency of the Republic headquarters, Mr. Boulos stated: "I discussed with the President of the Republic our shared commitment to strengthening our cooperation, particularly regarding the promotion of peace and addressing security and regional concerns."

The American official also emphasized "the significant potential for expanding trade relations between the two countries, building on the solid foundations of their economic cooperation."

He noted that during his visit to Algeria, he met with the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, with whom he discussed "joint efforts in support of peace and stability, including in the Sahel region."

Mr. Boulos also held talks with the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, with the aim of "exploring new prospects for commercial partnership and examining ways and means for the two countries to work together for mutual benefit."

The Senior Advisor to the US President further indicated that this visit reinforced his confidence regarding "the strength of US-Algerian relations and our shared commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous future for our two countries and for the region."
