The President of the National People’s Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, received the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) to Algeria, Khatri Addouh Khatri, on Tuesday, according to a statement from the Assembly.
According to the same source, both parties discussed the fraternal relations uniting the two brotherly peoples, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two legislative institutions to serve common causes and consolidate solidarity between the peoples.
On this occasion, Mr. Boughali reaffirmed Algeria’s consistent position in favor of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, in accordance with international legality and relevant United Nations resolutions.
For his part, the Sahrawi ambassador praised the role played by the APN through parliamentary diplomacy, emphasizing that the Sahrawi Parliament draws heavily from the Algerian experience and derives great benefit from it, particularly in the fields of legislation and the development of the legal system.
