The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, announced on Sunday in Algiers the launch of registration for the second edition of the "Study in Algeria" program, aimed at international students wishing to pursue their studies in the country on a "contractual" basis.

During the First National Meeting of International Students registered on the "Study in Algeria" platform, held at the Faculty of Information and Communication Sciences, Mr. Baddari highlighted that the launch of the second edition of this program serves as an occasion to evaluate this experience, which was initiated months ago.

In this context, the Minister affirmed that "this format (platform registration) is based on modernizing the university, developing its performance, and diversifying its funding sources in accordance with contracts concluded between international students and university institutions. These contracts define the mutual obligations between the two parties with full transparency, with the aim of benefiting from efficient and quality education and scientific research."

In the same vein, Mr. Baddari stated that this format also falls within the framework of "enabling the Algerian university to compete with international university networks in the field of higher education and scientific research." Additionally, it aims to "enable these students to work in their home countries and transfer knowledge, as well as allowing them to be ambassadors for Algeria in their countries of origin."

For his part, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Saadallah Kahal, expressed "the Ministry's commitment to accompanying the efforts of all national institutions, particularly the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the 'Study in Algeria' program." He noted that this is in addition to "the scholarship program offered by Algeria to foreign students, especially those from Africa and the Arab world."

The occasion was also an opportunity for several international students in Algeria to present testimonials regarding their academic paths and the facilities provided to them by those in charge of the higher education sector, appreciating the efforts of the Algerian university in "providing quality education."
