Algerian Customs chaired the proceedings of the 20th session of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Audit Committee, held in Brussels. The session was dedicated to reviewing internal and external audit reports, as well as strengthening governance mechanisms and compliance with international standards in financial and institutional management, according to a statement issued this Wednesday by the Customs services.
Algeria's chairing of this session, hosted at the World Customs Organization headquarters in the Belgian capital on Monday and Tuesday, follows its chairmanship of the previous session. According to the statement, this “reaffirms the trust it enjoys within the organization's structures and its advanced position in supporting the principles of transparency, good governance, and the modernization of oversight systems”.
This chairmanship also reflects “Algeria's growing role as an active and reliable partner in developing multilateral customs work and strengthening international cooperation in the customs field,” according to the same source.
