The Algerian champion Kaylia Nemour snatched, this Sunday evening, a silver medal in the balance beam final at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup.
This came in the second final contested by the 19-year-old gymnast in "Cottbus 2026" in Germany.
Kaylia Nemour obtained a score of 13.833 points.
The Algerian champion had settled for seventh place in the uneven bars final, following her fall which left her with a score of 12.900.
Italian Elisa Iorio was crowned champion (14.266), ahead of Russian Milana Kaimova (14.133) and fellow Italian Giulia Perotti (14.033).
The International Federation had recognized, on Friday, the artistic move of the Algerian champion Kaylia Nemour.
After having her name attached to the "Nemour 1" move months ago, Kaylia now holds the "authorship rights" to the "Nemour 2" move.
This came as a result of the unique technique innovated by Nemour in the uneven bars competition.
Nemour had previously achieved a distinctive score of 15.200 points in the qualifiers, which she topped ahead of the brightest stars of world gymnastics.
Following the pattern of her first gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Nemour wrote history in October 2025 during the World Championships in Jakarta.
Kaylia Nemour became the first Arab and African gymnast to be crowned world champion in this discipline.
Following the German leg, the World Cup circuit will continue through the stages of Baku (Azerbaijan), Antalya (Turkey), Cairo (Egypt), and Osijek (Croatia).
The Artistic Gymnastics World Cup circuit will conclude in Doha (Qatar) between April 14 and 18.
