The players of USM Algiers were subjected to significant harassment on Sunday evening prior to the kickoff of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg against the Moroccan side Olympic Safi. These incidents prevented the match from starting at its scheduled time of 8:00 PM.

Widespread chaos and high tension, caused by Olympic Safi supporters who invaded the pitch minutes before the scheduled start, forced the USM Algiers delegation to quickly retreat to the dressing rooms. This move came amid a total lack of the security conditions required for such high-stakes continental encounters.

This incident raises serious questions regarding the security organization of sensitive African matches in this particular country, especially during the advanced stages of the competition.

Despite the various provocations and the hostile environment, the USM Algiers players demonstrated great patience and restraint, avoiding any altercations.
