Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb presided this Wednesday over a government meeting dedicated to examining several points.

At the beginning of the session, the government examined a draft executive decree setting the conditions and procedures for the accreditation, operation, and control of private educational establishments. This project falls within the framework of correcting dysfunctions and shortcomings observed on the ground. It includes a new set of specifications defining the administrative, technical, and pedagogical obligations of private schools.

The accreditation of private educational establishments will be subject to the requirements of the school map. These establishments will be required to provide education in accordance with national programs and curricula and to respect the fundamental principles of the nation.

Furthermore, the government heard a presentation on the progress of preparations for the pilgrimage (Hajj) season of the year 1447 AH/2026 AD, including the main organizational steps and operations carried out aimed at simplifying and easing pilgrimage procedures for our Hajis, according to a statement from the ministry.

The statement adds that to this end, contracts have been concluded for accommodation, catering, transport of pilgrims and luggage services, as well as for the health supervision of pilgrims. In addition, administrative operations have been digitized via the Algerian pilgrimage portal, and electronic payment of pilgrimage fees has been implemented. The importance of permanent coordination between the sectors, institutions, and bodies concerned with the organization of the pilgrimage was also highlighted in order to reinforce the honorable image of our country during this season.

Moreover, the government examined the 2026-2028 roadmap for the vocational training and education sector, with a view to modernizing this sector to make it a true engine of economic development.

This strategic plan provides for a comprehensive reform of the educational system, aimed at strengthening employment prospects for graduates, improving the quality of education, and diversifying training offers in order to fully meet the needs of the labor market.
