Military Escalation in the Gulf: Algeria Calls for "Restraint" and a "Sense of Responsibility"

On Saturday, Algeria called for "restraint" and a "sense of responsibility" to spare the entire Gulf region from further insecurity and instability, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The negotiations conducted within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman's mediation sparked and fueled hope for a peaceful conclusion to the Iranian-American discussions. The failure of these negotiations, currently manifesting in a military escalation with unpredictable consequences, is deeply regrettable," the statement reads.

"While expressing its deep concern regarding this development, Algeria calls for restraint and a sense of responsibility to spare the entire Gulf region further insecurity and instability," the ministry's statement concludes.
