The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaïb, held a meeting with members of the national community residing within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Algeria in New York. This meeting marked the conclusion of his working visit to the United States.*
In his speech, the Secretary of State emphasized that the national community abroad holds a central position among the State's priorities. He reviewed the institutional and political gains enacted by the country’s high authorities for their benefit, which were recently strengthened by increasing the number of deputies representing the community and adopting a new electoral division granting the American continent two seats in the People's National Assembly (APN).
The interactive session provided an opportunity to address the community's concerns and exchange views on their aspirations. Chaïb highlighted the State's efforts to ensure optimal care for their needs, including cultural and educational aspects, as well as the modernization and digitalization of consular administration to simplify procedures and enhance service quality.
In conclusion, the Secretary of State renewed his call for members of the national community, particularly high-level competencies residing in the United States, to actively engage in national development efforts. He described them as strategic partners and key contributors to the national renewal process.
