The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Mr. Sid Ali Zerrouki, conducted a visit to the headquarters of Algérie Télécom Europe located in the Spanish city of Valencia, according to a ministry statement issued this Saturday.
During this stop, which concluded his visit to Spain, the Minister assessed the efficiency of the submarine fiber optic cable system that connects the national telecommunications network, starting from the cities of Oran and Algiers, to the European network at Valencia, as explained by the same source.
On this occasion, Mr. Zerrouki issued a series of technical directives aimed at enhancing the performance of this strategic infrastructure and optimizing its utilization, in line with the rapid developments in the field of telecommunications.
In this regard, he emphasized that Algérie Télécom Europe will “move towards playing more active roles in the European market during the upcoming phase. This is part of a strategy aimed at enhancing Algeria's presence in the international connectivity network and developing its telecommunications services,” the statement added.
It is worth noting that Mr. Zerrouki was accompanied during this visit by the Ambassador of Algeria to the Kingdom of Spain, Mr. Abdelfetah Daghmoum.
