Minister of the Interior, Local Communities, and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, and Mauritanian Minister of Equipment and Transport, Ely Sayed Ahmed El Veirk, affirmed the commitment of both countries to enhance bilateral cooperation across various modes of transport, according to a ministry statement on Tuesday.
The discussions took place during a meeting held Monday evening, attended by the CEO of Air Algérie and the CEO of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAM) from the Algerian side. The meeting served as "an occasion to strengthen consultation and intensify coordination between the two brotherly countries in all transport sectors."
According to the statement, both parties emphasized their keenness to promote bilateral cooperation in air, maritime, and land transport. This will be achieved by supporting partnerships between national institutions, agencies, and companies, as well as developing connectivity and facilitating exchanges, reflecting a shared will to elevate bilateral relations to broader horizons.
During the meeting, the importance of continued joint work following an integrated approach based on the exchange of expertise and the activation of coordination mechanisms was underscored. Such efforts are expected to open new perspectives for implementing joint projects that serve the interests of both nations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both ministers reiterated their determination to strengthen the dynamic of bilateral cooperation, further consolidating the deep fraternal ties uniting Algeria and Mauritania.
The Mauritanian minister is currently on a working visit to Algeria as part of a high-level ministerial delegation led by Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Djay, on the occasion of the 20th session of the Algerian-Mauritanian High Joint Commission for Cooperation.
