Minister of Communication, Dr. Zoheir Bouamama, met with the Mauritanian Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, El Housseine Ould Meddou, on the sidelines of the 20th session of the Algerian-Mauritanian High Joint Commission.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the existing bilateral relations in the field of media and communication and reviewed the signed cooperation agreements. The two ministers called for strengthening and intensifying coordination between the media institutions of both countries within the framework of these agreements, particularly regarding training, the exchange of expertise in digitizing audiovisual archives, and the exchange of visits to implement the terms of these accords.
Minister of Communication Dr. Zoheir Bouamama affirmed Algeria's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in the field of communication. He explored all possible partnership opportunities within the dynamic of bilateral relations, highlighting the dedication of both leaders, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to deepening and reinforcing ties across various fields.
For his part, the Mauritanian Minister praised the level of bilateral relations reached between Algeria and Mauritania. He reiterated his gratitude for Algeria's support, emphasizing the need to consolidate media cooperation and develop a bilateral action program aimed at exchanging expertise and coordinating visions to serve the common interests of both brotherly peoples.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Mauritanian Minister extended an invitation to the Minister of Communication to visit Mauritania to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for a "Press House" (Dar El Sahafa). This project, reflecting the commitment of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, serves as a step manifesting the depth of the partnership and the historical ties between the two brotherly nations.
