152nd IPU Assembly: Algerian Parliamentary Delegation Participates in African Geopolitical Group Meeting in Turkey

A delegation from both houses of the Algerian Parliament participated on Tuesday in the meeting of the African Geopolitical Group, held on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Turkey, according to a statement from the People's National Assembly (APN).

The meeting addressed several agenda items, serving as "a forum for the exchange of views, the strengthening of coordination among African parliaments, and the unification of positions with a view to adopting an emergency item on behalf of the group during the Union's General Assembly proceedings," the statement noted.

The meeting also featured consultations regarding candidacies for the position of Secretary General of the IPU, the same source added.

The Algerian parliamentary delegation participating in the meeting is composed of permanent members of the IPU, including the Vice-President of the APN, Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit; Senator Kamel Khelifati; and Deputies Farida Ilimi and Ammar Oulmi.
