The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, addressed a message today, Thursday, on the occasion of honoring the winners of the second edition of the President of the Republic’s Prize for the Innovative Researcher, marking the celebration of Science Day. The message was delivered on his behalf by the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb.
In his message, the President of the Republic stated: “Your gathering today at the Abdelhafid Ihaddaden Science and Technology Hub in Sidi Abdellah is not merely an academic occasion. Rather, it is an explicit expression of the State’s orientation and the will of its institutions, which steadfastly strive to establish Algeria’s position among countries that produce knowledge rather than just consume it, and that master technology rather than merely importing it”.
The President explained: “This gathering coincides with the celebration of Science Day, observed on April 16th each year. On this day, we solemnly recall the legacy of Imam Abdelhamid ibn Badis, who realized early on that the battle for liberation begins in the school, and that building the individual is the solid foundation for building countries”.
The President emphasized that “The President of the Republic’s Prize for the Innovative Researcher is not merely an honorary gesture; it is a message from a State that believes in its competencies. It is a clear embodiment of the will to link scientific research to economic development by supporting innovation, encouraging patent registrations, accompanying the creation of startups, and fostering an incubation environment that enables the researcher to transform an idea into a product that proudly bears the label +Innovated in Algeria+”.
