In implementation of the high instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a national monitoring and support cell was established on Wednesday evening within the Prime Minister's office, tasked with tracking the development of forest and crop fires and coordinating response efforts, a statement from his office said.
"In implementation of the high instructions of the President of the Republic, following the outbreak of fires in several regions of the country and the increasing scale of the damage they have caused, a national monitoring and support cell was set up today, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, within the Prime Minister's office," the statement specified.
"Composed of representatives from all sectors and competent national bodies, this cell works continuously to monitor the evolution of the forest and crop fire situation, coordinate and intensify efforts, and mobilize all resources capable of contributing to firefighting operations and organizing relief efforts," the same source added.
