AL24 News (Algeria International) has been awarded the 2026 African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) Media Prize for “Best Television Report.” The honor was presented during the 17th General Assembly of the Union, held in Banjul, the capital of the Gambia.
The award, announced at the conclusion of the assembly’s proceedings, recognized a piece by journalist Asma Laid titled: “Algeria... A Leading Academic Destination for African Students.”
It is noteworthy that the Algerian Radio was awarded in the Artificial Intelligence category for its work titled: “When AI Breathes New Life into African Heritage.” Additionally, the Public Establishment of Television (EPTV) won for its production: “African Youth... A Common Identity and a Shared Future.”
This recognition coincides with the 20th anniversary of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), marking a milestone that reflects Algeria's growing presence within the African media landscape.
