Fifty-five films from 20 Mediterranean countries will participate in the 6th edition of the Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival (FAM), scheduled from April 24 to 30, with Egyptian cinema as the guest of honor, the Festival Commissioner announced Sunday evening.

During a press conference held at the Seybouse International Hotel, the Festival Commissioner, Mr. Mohamed Allal, explained that this edition is distinguished by the presentation of 13 international premieres and 53 Algerian premieres. He noted a significant presence from various Mediterranean cinematic schools, adding that the choice of Egyptian cinema as the guest of honor serves to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the world-renowned director Youssef Chahine (1926–2008).

According to the same source, the scheduled program includes screenings distributed between the Azzedine Medjoubi Regional Theater and the Annaba Cinematheque. These screenings feature feature-length films, shorts, and documentaries, both within the official competition and out of competition, reflecting the diversity of contemporary cinematic experiences.

The event will also witness the organization of the "Annaba Film Industry Days," which attracted 212 film projects. Furthermore, a special competition for films produced using Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques will be launched with the participation of eight countries, reflecting the festival's openness to modern technological transformations.
