Algerian cyclist Hamza Yacine of the Madar team won the sixth stage of the 26th edition of the Tour d’Algérie International on Wednesday, a 155 km route between Mostaganem and Ténès.

Consistent with the competitive nature of the Tour d’Algérie 2026, this stage saw intense rivalry among the riders, particularly in the final meters. Hamza Yacine claimed first place and was awarded the blue jersey for his performance.

Belgian Lauryssen Yorben of the Tartiletto-Isorex team retained the yellow jersey as the overall leader for the sixth consecutive day. His teammate, Santi Patrick, secured the green jersey for the fastest rider.

The polka-dot jersey for the best climber was awarded to German rider Heiko Michael Pascal of the "Embrace the World" team. The white jersey for the best rider under 23 went to South African Erasmus Alexander of the "Chienolo" team.

The orange jersey for the most combative rider was awarded to South African Basson Gustav, also from the "Chienolo" team. Hamza Yacine, as the stage winner, also claimed the black jersey for the best Algerian rider of the stage.

The 2026 edition of the Tour d’Algérie International comprises ten stages across diverse routes covering a total distance of 1,697.7 km, under the supervision of an international jury chaired by Spain's Jorge Gual Martinez.

Following the sixth stage, the riders will compete on Thursday in the seventh stage, a 98.7 km loop within Chlef. The race will begin and end in front of the Hotel Mirador in the center of the city of Chlef.

Passing through ten municipalities, this stage features diverse terrain that promises a competitive blend of speed and tactics, while offering the riders an opportunity to discover the inland municipalities of the wilaya of Chlef.
