African Archery Championship: Oran to Host 15th Edition Next July

The Algerian Federation of Sport Shooting has announced the organization of the 15th edition of the African Archery Championship, scheduled to take place from July 20 to 26, 2026, in the wilaya of Oran, under the auspices of the international federation for the discipline.

Sixteen African countries are expected to participate in this continental event, namely Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Sudan, Niger, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Namibia, Mauritius, Libya, Kenya, Guinea, Ivory Coast, and Chad, illustrating the importance of this event on the African sporting scene.

Nearly 180 athletes and officials will take part in this competition, a "major sporting rendezvous confirming the growing status of this event at the continental level," the Federation emphasized in a communiqué.

Delegations will be accommodated at the Mediterranean Village in Bir El Djir (Oran), while the events will be held at the stadium within the same complex, ensuring optimal organizational and logistical conditions for the participants.

The Federation stated that Algeria's hosting of this event "reflects its constant commitment to the development of sport in general and archery in particular," while highlighting its capacity to organize international events under the best conditions.

Finally, it assured that it will work in coordination with all its partners to mobilize the necessary resources to ensure the success of this championship and offer participants a high-quality sporting and human experience.
