Attaf Receives the Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received today, Tuesday, the Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), Mr. Andrés Rebolledo Smitmans, who is on an official visit to Algeria, according to a ministry statement.

According to the statement, the meeting provided an opportunity to review the state of cooperation with this regional organization, where Algeria holds “permanent observer” status. It also examined prospects for strengthening this partnership in line with the capabilities and expertise available to both Algeria and its partners in Latin America and the Caribbean, regarding both traditional energy resources and renewable energies.

The two parties also “exchanged views on developments in global energy markets and discussed ways to strengthen South-South cooperation, particularly by intensifying coordination in international forums related to energy fields,” the statement added.
