Tour d'Algérie 2026: Ethiopian Bizay Tesfu Redae wins 9th stage in Chréa

Ethiopian cyclist Bizay Tesfu Redae from the "Madar Pro Team" won the 9th stage of the 26th edition of the International Tour d’Algérie this Saturday. The stage covered a distance of over 112 km, starting from Hammam Righa (Aïn Defla) and finishing at the heights of Chréa.

Bizay Tesfu Redae completed the race in 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 45 seconds.

This penultimate stage was marked by intense competition, especially on the winding roads and steep climbs of Chréa. Following this stage, the Yellow Jersey (General Classification) was awarded to Indonesian rider Rizky Dimas Nur Fadhil of the "Jakarta Pro Cycling" team. The Green Jersey (Fastest Rider) went to Sante-Arne Patrick of the "Tarteletto-Isorex" team.

The Red Polka Dot Jersey (King of the Mountains) was claimed by German rider Heiko Michael Pascal of "Embrace The World," while Rizky Dimas Fadhil also secured the White Jersey for the best young rider under 23.

In addition, Achraf Farhat from the "Mouloudia Club d'Alger" (MCA) won the Orange Jersey for the most combative rider of the stage, while Nassereddine Ousmiani from "USC El Kantara" was awarded the Black Jersey.

The awarding ceremony was presided over by the Wali of the province, Djamel Eddine Hasshas, along with local authorities.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the 10th and final stage of the International Tour d’Algérie will take place, covering 108 km between Algiers and the province of Tizi Ouzou. This final leg will be decisive, offering the last chance for riders to improve their rankings or confirm their positions.

The 2026 edition of the Tour d’Algérie includes ten stages across various routes, totaling 1,697.7 km, under the supervision of an international jury chaired by the Spaniard Jorge Gual Martinez.
