The agricultural mechanization company Agrodrive, a subsidiary of the public group Agrodiv, has mobilized significant material and technical resources across various wilayas to ensure the success of the 2025-2026 harvesting and threshing campaign, which began in the southern wilayas. This action embodies the directives of the President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at providing the necessary equipment to farmers, as highlighted today, Sunday, by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries.

The Ministry explained in a statement that the sector has mobilized 332 combine harvesters for this operation, supported by private sector resources currently deployed across the southern wilayas, in addition to 765 trucks for transporting crops to collection centers. This has “enabled support for farmers in harvesting operations and improved working conditions, which has been widely welcomed by professionals.”

In the same context, Agrodrive has deployed mobile technical teams for field intervention to maintain equipment and ensure continuous, uninterrupted work throughout the harvesting campaign.

The Ministry emphasized that this effort is part of the sector's current dynamics, supported by the establishment of the National Council for Agricultural Mechanization. This council will contribute to ensuring equipment maintenance and the availability of spare parts, thereby reinforcing ongoing efforts and supporting the expansion of cultivated areas and the increase of yield per hectare.

The source indicated that Agrodrive has recently acquired 331 combine harvesters and 1,800 tractors, in a qualitative step aimed at strengthening the national fleet of agricultural equipment and ensuring better coverage of the season's needs, particularly in the grain sector.

In the same context, and to ensure efficiency in the use of this equipment, the Ministry has initiated, for the first time, specialized training courses on best practices for operating and maintaining harvesters. These sessions are intended for mechanization personnel across public and private sector institutions, in coordination with the vocational training and education sector, aiming for optimal control of harvesting operations and the reduction of crop loss, according to the same source.

The Ministry confirmed that these courses witnessed a 'significant' turnout from farmers and harvester operators, as well as personnel responsible for agricultural equipment maintenance at the Cereals and Pulses Cooperatives (CCLS). Participants praised the importance of this initiative in enhancing professional efficiency.
