The acting president of the Independent National Authority for Elections (ANIE), Mr. Karim Khelfane, presided over a coordination meeting via videoconference with the heads of diplomatic and consular posts abroad and ANIE coordinators assigned to these representations, according to an ANIE communiqué issued on Tuesday.
Accompanied by members of the ANIE council and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Khelfane supervised this coordination meeting on Monday. The discussions addressed "technical and legal aspects related to the legislative elections of July 2, 2026, particularly the phase of withdrawing forms and submitting and examining candidacy files," the statement specified.
The number of candidacy declaration files withdrawn for the electoral districts abroad reached "14 files in total, sponsored by 11 political parties," while "no submission of a collective candidacy declaration file has been recorded."
