The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) has mobilized 3,000 volunteers across 11 international airports throughout the country to accompany and assist pilgrims, according to a statement released by the organization on Sunday.

"This initiative, reflecting the CRA's constant commitment to supporting citizens in all circumstances, is part of the ongoing mobilization of its human and logistical resources to ensure high-quality assistance for pilgrims at the relevant international airports," the source specified.

The CRA has deployed 3,000 volunteers—qualified and trained in first aid—to support and assist pilgrims, particularly the elderly, from the moment they arrive at the airport until they complete their travel procedures. The communiqué highlighted that this initiative "is part of the CRA's strategic vision aimed at supporting national efforts to improve the quality of services provided to pilgrims."

The statement also recalled that on April 29, the CRA participated in the departure ceremony of the first flight of pilgrims to the Holy Sites from Houari Boumediene International Airport, alongside representatives from relevant sectors and institutional partners.
