The official visit of the President of the Republic, Mr Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the sisterly Republic of Türkiye features an intensive agenda that reflects the strength and quality of the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries. It further underscores their shared determination to advance these ties toward broader horizons in service of their common interests and aspirations.

The President of the Republic arrived on Wednesday in the Turkish capital, Ankara, leading a significant ministerial delegation as part of a visit aimed at strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two nations.

Upon his arrival, the President was granted an official welcome by his brother, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, at Esenboğa International Airport, followed by a one-on-one meeting in the airport’s presidential lounge.

As part of the official programme, a major milestone in the history of bilateral relations governed by a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation since 2006, the President is scheduled to visit the mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. He will then be officially received by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Turkish Presidential Complex.

Following this, President Tebboune will hold private talks with his Turkish counterpart to evaluate the significant achievements and gains made in recent years, driven by strong momentum and notable progress. These talks will highlight their commitment to permanent communication, continuous consultation, and intensified political dialogue on bilateral relations, as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern, particularly the Palestinian cause.

The discussions between the two leaders will be expanded to include the delegations of both countries to explore new opportunities for strengthening ties and promoting partnership across various fields.

Subsequently, the President of the Republic will co-chair, alongside President Erdoğan, the proceedings of the first session of the Algerian-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. The two leaders are also expected to oversee the signing ceremony of several new cooperation agreements in vital sectors.
