The President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azouz Nasri, was received Saturday afternoon in the capital Djibouti by the President of the Republic of Djibouti, Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. The meeting took place on the sidelines of Mr. Nasri’s participation, as the representative of the President of the Republic, Mr.Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of the Djibouti President following his re-election for a new term, according to a statement from the Council of the Nation.
During the audience, Azouz Nasri delivered a written message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh. He also conveyed the President’s congratulations on the renewed trust placed in him by the people of Djibouti, wishing him success in his high duties and further progress and prosperity for the brotherly people of Djibouti.
For his part, the Djibouti President praised the depth of the fraternal relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries. He lauded Algeria's consistent support for peace, stability, and development in Africa, and requested Mr. Nasri to convey his fraternal greetings and high esteem to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The meeting served as an opportunity to reaffirm the shared will to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand the scope of consultation and coordination between the two countries to serve the mutual interests of both brotherly peoples.
The meeting was attended by H.E. Mohamed Nacer Bassaglia, Algeria’s Ambassador to Djibouti, Professor Makhlouf Sahel, Chief of Staff to the President of the Council of the Nation, and Mr.Mohamed Lamine Habchi, Director of Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
