The eighth edition of the Algerian Products and Services Exhibition concluded this Monday in Nouakchott, Mauritania, with the signing of 70 agreements spanning the trade, services, and export sectors, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.

The same source clarified that the exhibition, organized from May 4 to 11, achieved "significant economic and trade results." With 70 agreements concluded since the event's launch, the ministry noted that this reflects the "success of the exhibition in promoting Algerian exports and strengthening the Algerian-Mauritanian economic partnership."

The closing day witnessed the signing of 18 new agreements in the fields of trade, services, and exports. Notable among these was an agreement between the cargo division of Air Algérie, subsidiaries of the Algerian Maritime Transport Group, and the National Maritime Freight Company. This deal involves the export and shipment of 500,000 tons of cement to Mauritania, with a total value estimated at $50 million.

The statement noted that this agreement reflects the "growing Algerian export capacities and the strengthening of the national product's presence in the Mauritanian market."

In the healthcare sector, agreements were signed regarding medical tourism, aiming to strengthen cooperation between Algerian health institutions and Mauritanian operators. These agreements support the development of therapeutic services and the reception of Mauritanian citizens at Algerian hospital facilities.

The agreements also extended to the innovation and services sector through partnerships involving Algerian startups active in the agricultural field. These partnerships aim to develop technical solutions and smart services tailored to the agricultural sector, while enhancing technical cooperation and the exchange of expertise between the two countries.

In the tourism sector, an agreement was signed aimed at enhancing tourism promotion and developing partnerships between sector operators, opening new horizons for cooperation and investment between Algeria and Mauritania.
