Brent crude jumped this Tuesday to $91.05 per barrel amid fears of worsening energy supply disruptions in the Middle East.
The surge in Brent crude coincided with a rise in oil prices of about two percent, reaching their highest levels in five weeks.
Brent crude futures climbed by $1.83 (2.1%), touching the $92 per barrel threshold.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude gained $1.92 (equivalent to 2.3%), rising to $85.15.
Brent crude is heading toward recording its highest settlement level since last June 10.
For its part, West Texas Intermediate crude is heading toward recording its highest settlement level since last June 11.
