The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, Ms. Margarida Adamugi Talapa, visited the Sidi R'zine oil refinery complex in Baraki (Algiers) as part of her official visit to Algeria, according to a statement from the People's National Assembly (APN) on Sunday.
The same source explained that Ms. Talapa, accompanied by the Vice-President of the APN, Mr. Mohamed Anouar Bouchouit, toured the facility on Saturday. The visit follows an official invitation from the President of the Assembly, Mr. Brahim Boughali.
During her tour of the various departments, Ms. Talapa received detailed briefings on the capacities of this vital facility and its role in bolstering national energy security. She was also briefed on the different refining stages and the advanced technologies employed in production and transformation.
The visit provided the President of the Mozambican Assembly and her accompanying delegation with an overview of Algerian economic and industrial expertise, highlighting the significant progress achieved by Algeria in several strategic sectors.
The visit falls within the framework of strengthening cooperation and coordination between Algeria and the Republic of Mozambique to serve the mutual interests of both friendly nations, the statement concluded.
