The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, and the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, presided on Monday evening in Algiers over the opening of the "Algeria in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" event, organized by a national startup.
In an address delivered on this occasion, Mr. Zerrouki stated that the post and telecommunications sector, a key player in the digital and technology fields, is fully committed to building Algeria's infrastructure—which is now a leader in Africa—highlighting the efforts of economic operators in supporting startups.
He also praised the achievements of innovative startup entrepreneurs, who contribute to wealth and job creation while providing digital solutions to address the challenges related to modern technologies.
This major technological event highlights "the importance of combining efforts between decision-makers, economic actors, experts, and innovative startups to ensure national digital sovereignty."
It is sponsored by Algérie Télécom, as part of "its constant commitment to encouraging national expertise in modern technologies" and "its policy of supporting high value-added local initiatives."
On the same occasion, the official launch of the "RIPOST" platform took place. Based on artificial intelligence, the platform is dedicated to strategic intelligence, social listening, and digital reputation management.
It should be noted that this event took place in the presence of the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Kamel Moula; the CEO of Algérie Télécom, Abdelghani Aït Saïd; and representatives of several national companies.
