Attaf Receives Phone Call from Secretary-General of League of Arab States

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call this Tuesday evening from the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Nabil Fahmy, according to a ministry statement.             

The statement explained that "during this call, the Secretary-General informed the Minister of State of the action plan he intends to present with the aim of reactivating the League of Arab States to enable it to respond more effectively to various challenges and stakes." 

The Secretary-General also praised "the historical and pivotal role that Algeria has always played in defending Arab causes." 

For his part, Mr. Attaf affirmed "Algeria's readiness and commitment to work closely with the Secretary-General and assist him in carrying out his duties to serve vital Arab interests," the same source added. 

In the face of growing challenges and increasing threats confronting Arab countries on various fronts, the Minister of State emphasized the necessity of "accelerating the implementation of a deep reform process leading to the activation of the joint Arab action system, in a manner that guarantees the preservation of security, stability, and sovereignty for the region's nations, as well as fulfilling the aspirations of Arab peoples for development and prosperity," according to the ministry statement.
