Foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic nations, including Algeria, condemned in the strongest terms this Sunday the "illegal and unacceptable" step taken by the so-called "Somaliland" region in opening an alleged "embassy" in the occupied city of Jerusalem. They emphasized that this action constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, and represents a direct assault on the legal and historical status of the city.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic nations, including Algeria, condemned in the "strongest terms" the "illegal and unacceptable" step taken by the so-called "Somaliland" region in opening an alleged "embassy" in the occupied city of Jerusalem. The statement stressed that this act is a flagrant violation of international law and relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, representing a direct assault on the legal and historical status of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The ministers affirmed their "complete rejection" of any unilateral measures aimed at establishing an illegal reality in occupied Jerusalem or granting legitimacy to any entities or arrangements that violate the rules of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. They reaffirmed that East Jerusalem is Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, and that any steps aimed at altering its legal and historical status "are considered null and void, and carry no legal effect."

The ministers emphasized their "full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and their complete rejection of any unilateral measures that infringe upon the unity of Somali territories or detract from its sovereignty."
