The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a government meeting this Monday dedicated to reviewing the draft National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and the launch plan for the national digital services portal, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's services, the full text of which is as follows:
"The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired a government meeting this Monday, May 25, 2026, dedicated to reviewing the draft National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. In recent years, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Algeria has initiated an important dynamic to modernize public activity and advance digital transformation.
The National Artificial Intelligence Strategy aligns with the continuity of this momentum. It aims to cross an additional milestone in building a development model based on knowledge, innovation, and the mastery of emerging technologies.
In this regard, the strategy relies on three main structural axes: data, digital infrastructure, and human skills, which serve as the foundations for any sustainable national capability in the field of artificial intelligence.
Following its adoption by the Council of Ministers, this strategy will be subject to action plans for its practical implementation, in accordance with specific priorities and a predetermined pace of progress.
On another note, and within the framework of implementing the directives of the country's supreme authorities aimed at accelerating the digital transformation process and modernizing public services, the government reviewed the launch plan for the national digital services portal, 'Dzair Digital Services'.
In this respect, the government emphasized the importance of enhancing the digitalization dynamic and expanding the scope of provided services, whether through the portal's website or its mobile application. This effort seeks to provide high-quality, user-friendly services to citizens, ensuring the portal delivers a positive impact by reducing the need for physical travel, simplifying procedures, and enhancing administrative transparency."
