The Director of Holy Sites Management for the Algerian Hajj Mission, Mr. Youssef Baroud, confirmed on Thursday that the first phase of the Holy Sites' operational plan was successfully executed in good organizational conditions, thanks to the mobilization of all mission branches.
In a press statement, Mr. Baroud explained that "the first phase of the plan for the Holy Sites proceeded smoothly, as Algerian pilgrims were transported from Makkah to the site of Arafat to spend the 8th and 9th days of Dhu al-Hijjah, before moving to Muzdalifah and then to Mina."
He added that on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, due to the crowded conditions in the Mina camps—a situation affecting all nationalities—precautionary measures were taken. Approximately 1,083 pilgrims were transported back to their hotels in Makkah under medical supervision to alleviate the pressure.
Mr. Baroud noted that the Fatwa Committee is "accompanying this process to clarify religious rulings for the pilgrims, ensuring they perform their rituals with ease," highlighting the full mobilization of the Algerian Hajj Mission across all its branches in Mina to ensure optimal care for the pilgrims.
It is worth noting that pilgrims continue their stay in Mina on the 11th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, performing the ritual of "stoning the pillars" (Jamarat) after midday, while engaging in prayer and supplication during the days of Tashreeq.
