Tasked by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, began an official visit to the Republic of Chad on Monday. This visit falls within the framework of strengthening ties of brotherhood, as well as consolidating cooperation and partnership between the two countries, a statement from the Prime Minister's Office indicated.
According to the same source, the Prime Minister is accompanied during this visit by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Mohamed Arkab; the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mr. Mourad Adjal; and the Director General of the Algerian Agency of International Cooperation for Solidarity and Development, Mr. Abed Hallouz, in addition to several executives from national companies operating in the fields of hydrocarbons, energy, and electricity.
Upon his arrival at N'Djamena International Airport, the Prime Minister was welcomed by his Chadian counterpart, Head of Government Mr. Allamaye Halina, accompanied by several members of the Chadian government and senior officials.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the Prime Minister and his Chadian counterpart held a bilateral working session. During the meeting, they reviewed the evolution of the distinguished relations between Algeria and Chad and exchanged views on ways to give new impetus to bilateral cooperation and broaden its scope. This reflects the shared will of the leaders of the two countries to elevate relations of brotherhood and cooperation to broader horizons, serving the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
Laying the Foundation Stone for a 40-Megawatt Power Plant in N'Djamena
On the occasion of this visit, the Prime Minister, accompanied by his Chadian counterpart, will preside over the foundation stone laying ceremony for an Algerian-Chadian solidarity power generation plant in the Farcha industrial zone in N'Djamena, with a capacity of 40 megawatts.
This project will be carried out by Sonelgaz International as a donation from the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the sisterly Republic of Chad. It is implemented in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and renews Algeria's constant commitment to supporting sustainable development processes in brotherly African countries. It also consolidates the values of African solidarity and cooperation through structural projects with a direct impact on economic and social development.
The Prime Minister will also hold consultations with the President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, regarding prospects for strengthening the Algerian-Chadian partnership, as well as major regional and African issues of mutual interest.
This visit by the Prime Minister to the Republic of Chad aligns with the positive and growing dynamic characterizing Algerian-Chadian relations, materializing the shared will of the leaders of the two countries to take bilateral cooperation to higher levels and strengthen the economic and developmental partnership.
