The International Association Football Federation (FIFA) revealed this Friday the appointment of a Slovenian refereeing crew, led by Slavko Vinčić, to officiate the match between the Algerian and Jordanian national teams on June 23 at the Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara (04:00 AM Algeria time), for the second round of Group J of the 2026 World Cup.

Main referee Slavko Vinčić will be assisted by his compatriots Tomaž Klančnik (first assistant) and Andraž Kovačič (second assistant), while Jamaican Oshane Nation has been appointed as the fourth official, and Caleb Wales from Trinidad and Tobago has been named as the reserve assistant referee.

This match is of utmost importance for the Algerian national team, which needs to bounce back after its defeat in the opening match against world champions Argentina (0-3).

"Les Verts" will head into the Jordan match with the ambition to revive their global campaign and stay in the race to qualify for the round of 16.

The second match of the same Group J will bring together the national teams of Argentina and Austria this Monday at Dallas Stadium (18:00), which will be officiated by Egyptian referee Amin Mohamed, assisted by his compatriots Mahmoud Abouelregal (first assistant) and Ahmed Hossam Taha (second assistant).

Following the match against Jordan, "les verts" will face the Austrian national team on June 28 in Kansas City (03:00 AM Algeria time).
