The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has filed an official complaint with the International Football Federation (FIFA) protesting several refereeing decisions during Algeria's match against Argentina in the 2026 World Cup, according to the official website of Algerian Television on Friday.

Based on sources from the Algerian Football Federation (FAF), the complaint focused on three key refereeing incidents. These included the challenge on national team captain Aïssa Mandi, which FAF argued required stricter action from the referee or a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR); the elbowing incident involving Anis Hadj Moussa; and the challenge on Ibrahim Maza, which the Algerian Federation deemed a situation that warranted a review and appropriate disciplinary measures.

This step comes in the wake of the controversy that accompanied the refereeing performance during the match, which sparked widespread reactions among fans and observers amid demands to verify several decisions that were considered influential to the course of the game.
