The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouidri, received the Nigerien Minister of Health, Garba Hakimi, to discuss the prospects of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, according to a ministry statement.
The meeting, held on Tuesday at the Ministry's headquarters, falls within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly nations in the pharmaceutical sector. This aligns with the directives of both countries' leaders, aiming to expand the prospects of partnership and integration between Algeria and Niger, the statement added.
During the talks, the two sides highlighted their shared commitment to elevating bilateral cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, fulfilling the aspirations of both brotherly peoples and contributing to enhanced health security in the region.
The discussions also focused on ways to meet the Nigerien market's needs for Algerian-produced medicines and vaccines. Furthermore, the parties explored mechanisms to support Niger in developing its own capacities in this field by encouraging bilateral partnerships and transferring technical expertise and knowledge, the statement clarified.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides renewed their commitment to continuous coordination and joint action to implement the agreed-upon projects.
