The first two mobile polling stations of the Béchar wilaya will depart on Monday from the border municipality of Beni Ounif, located 110 km north of the wilaya's capital, heading toward the nomadic and scattered areas of the region. This operation aims to allow the concerned voters to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming July 2 legislative elections, the Algeria Press Service (APS) learned from the local delegation of the National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE).

These two mobile polling stations will allow 1,680 voters to fulfill their civic duty under good conditions across the nomadic and remote areas of Oued Namous and Zousfana, 72 hours before polling day, in accordance with legal provisions, stated the coordinator of the local ANIE delegation, Abdelkrim Benmansour.

The same official specified that all necessary material, logistical, and human arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth running of this electoral operation.

He explained that the geographical remoteness of these areas necessitates an early departure of the convoys to meet the deadlines set by the electoral law.

Furthermore, two other mobile polling stations, intended for voters in the scattered and nomadic areas of the municipalities of Béchar and Abadla, will leave their respective starting points early on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will allow 554 voters to exercise their right to vote under adequate conditions.

In the Béchar wilaya, the electoral body consists of 187,362 registered voters, including 71,217 female voters and 116,145 male voters. This figure includes 259 newly registered voters (70 women and 189 men), who will be called to cast their ballots on July 2 across 63 voting centers and 437 polling stations, four of which are mobile.

In total, 3,300 agents will be mobilized to supervise the electoral operations at the voting centers and polling stations throughout the wilaya, according to the coordinator of the local ANIE delegation.
