ALGIERS - The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, received the Ambassador of Slovenia to Algeria, Mrs. Urska Kramberger Mendek, to discuss ways and means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of investment, the Agency said in a statement.

During this meeting, held Wednesday at AAPI headquarters in the presence of its executives, the two parties notably discussed prospects for developing cooperation between AAPI and the Slovenian Public Agency for Entrepreneurship, Internationalization, Foreign Investments and Technology (SPIRIT Slovenia). This collaboration aims to exchange expertise and best practices in investment promotion and investor support, as well as information on investment opportunities available in both countries.

On this occasion, Mr. Rekkache reviewed the advantages offered by the business climate in Algeria as well as the main investment opportunities available, inviting Slovenian economic operators to seize them. He highlighted opportunities in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, packaging, food and pharmaceutical packaging materials, strategic crops (particularly soybeans, corn, and cotton), as well as mechanical industries, subcontracting, plastics, and polymers.

The two parties also discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation by encouraging the participation of Algerian companies in an upcoming economic fair scheduled in Slovenia, as well as examining the possibility of organizing a business forum bringing together economic operators from both countries, the same source concluded.
