Metro El Djazaïr announced on Wednesday that metro operating hours will be exceptionally extended until 1:00 AM to celebrate the arrival of the New Year 2026.
"On the occasion of the New Year 2026, the Algiers Metro Operation Company (SEMA) informs its valued customers of the extension of operating hours on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, until 1:00 AM," the company said in a statement released on Wednesday.
The statement noted that this extension aims "to facilitate the movement of citizens in a safe and comfortable atmosphere."
