The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, received Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the US President for Africa, Arab Affairs, and the Middle East, who is on an official visit to Algeria, on Tuesday at the Ministry headquarters, according to a ministry statement.
On this occasion, the Minister of State held a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Boulos, followed by a meeting expanded to include members of the Algerian and American delegations.
The meeting was "an opportunity to review various aspects of Algerian-US relations and to examine ways to strengthen them and raise them to the highest possible levels."
In this context, "both parties highlighted the importance of strengthening the strategic dialogue established between Algeria and the United States of America, and reaffirmed the need to continue the positive momentum characterizing the bilateral partnership, particularly in economic fields," the statement added.
The two parties also "exchanged views on major current issues in the Arab world and in Africa, particularly developments in the situation in Libya, the Sahel-Saharan region, and Western Sahara."
