The Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, affirmed the importance of the recent entry of global brands into Algeria to invest in the textile and clothing sector. He stated that this is the result of reforms implemented by public authorities over the past few years.

"Our country is beginning to reap the fruits of the reforms undertaken by the Government since 2020, in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This comes after successfully attracting dozens of global clothing brands to invest locally," Mr. Rezig told the press on Friday afternoon at the opening of the "International Brands Exhibition Made in DZ."

He added that a significant number of locally manufactured global brand products were made using Algerian raw materials, labor, and ideas, and are partly intended for export to European and American markets. He highlighted that the recorded results "are the greatest proof that Algerian industry has made significant strides, particularly in the textile field, and has experienced considerable development thanks to the combined efforts of various sectors."

He emphasized that these results will help attract other brands and new manufacturers in the future, particularly by guaranteeing favorable conditions and an attractive investment climate in Algeria.

Aligning with the State's policy aimed at localizing international commercial brands within the country rather than importing them, this two-day event featured the presentation of various clothing items for all age groups. These items are manufactured locally according to international standards, boasting high quality and competitive prices.

The organization of this exhibition also comes in implementation of the national strategy aiming to localize global commercial brands and strengthen national production capacities. This enables the marketing of these products on the national market and the promotion of exports to foreign markets, particularly African ones.
