Writer and novelist Mohamed Moulessehoul, better known by his pen name Yasmina Khadra, led a literary and intellectual discussion on Tuesday with students at Aboubakr Belkaïd University in Tlemcen. The event focused on the theme: "The Novel as the Conscience of the Arab World and the Universe."
The author highlighted the importance of instilling a love for reading at a young age to develop children's expressive abilities and build a solid linguistic foundation, paving the way for future writing skills.
Yasmina Khadra also emphasized the need for writers to capture the attention of younger generations through inspiring themes that foster idea development, social awareness, and a passion for reading and writing. He noted that the recent decline in interest in literature is partly due to the impact of new technologies, particularly social media.
