Algerians are set to welcome the FIFA World Cup trophy in Algiers next Monday.

Following the precedent of two previous visits in 2009 and 2013, the trophy is scheduled to arrive in Algeria on Sunday night, with a public display planned for Monday.

The trophy’s visit to Algeria is part of the global tour organized by FIFA, coming four months ahead of the World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Football enthusiasts will have the opportunity to view the World Cup up close at the Oval Hall (La Coupole) of the Mohamed Boudiaf Olympic Complex. The exhibition is scheduled to run from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Monday.

Furthermore, a formal ceremony is planned for Monday evening at the El Aurassi Hotel in the heights of the capital, to be attended by various sporting and political figures.

It was also reported that a photo session is scheduled to take place at the Botanical Garden "Jardin d'Essai" in Hamma.

Several FIFA representatives will be in attendance, including the former German international striker and 1990 World Cup champion, Jürgen Klinsmann, who also served as the head coach of the U.S. National Team (2011–2016).

Notably, the World Cup trophy visited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, earlier in January, and has already toured Tokyo, Vienna, Seoul, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, and Cairo. The trophy is set to visit 22 other countries in succession over the coming months.
