The first National Data Center (Mohammadia Data Center) in Algiers has obtained the "Tier III Design" classification certification issued by the Uptime Institute. This reflects the "level of technical maturity and institutional operability" reached by this strategic facility "par excellence," indicated a statement from the High Commission for Digitization on Sunday.
"Within the framework of implementing the objectives of the National Digital Transformation Strategy in Algeria—particularly its first pillar regarding Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure—and in order to consolidate standards of excellence for technological infrastructures, the first National Data Center (Mohammadia Data Center) has obtained the Tier III Design certification issued by the Uptime Institute," the statement specifies.
This achievement reflects the "level of technical maturity and institutional operability reached by this strategic facility par excellence," adds the statement, highlighting that this classification is an "international reference confirming the infrastructure's compliance with the highest standards of reliability and continuity, guaranteeing maintainability without interruption, and offering advanced levels of security and operational availability."
This accreditation is the "culmination of a rigorous technical and engineering process, based on an integrated infrastructure design and the adoption of advanced solutions to ensure business continuity, while subjecting the various components to strict evaluation criteria in accordance with global best practices."
In this regard, "the High Commission for Digitization is committed to continuing its efforts to obtain the 'Tier III Facility Construction' certification, the first of its kind in Algeria," as a means of "completing the accreditation process and consolidating levels of readiness and reliability in accordance with international standards."
Furthermore, the institution is working towards "obtaining the 'Tier III Design' certification for the second National Data Center (Data Center 2) in the Wilaya of Blida," the statement concludes.
